Stephanie Over at Diapers and Divinity posted a meme and I decided to take the challenge. It helped me to really concentrate on General Conference a little better this year. So below are the questions and my answers.
General Conference Highlights, October 2010:
1. Who were your three favorite speakers?
That is hard because I enjoyed every one. President Uchtdorf (Saturday morning), Elder Packer (Sunday morning), and Elder Mervyn B. Arnold (Sunday afternoon).
2. Favorite talk?
I loved the talk by Elder Per G. Malm. He talked about having solid anchors in our lives and he compared it to a hollow tree he saw along the road in Sweden. The tree was hollow on the inside and was anchored with wire to the buildings that surrounded it. When he looked inside the tree he saw waste of all kinds. He compared that to us and counseled us to beware of things that destroy from the inside out.

3. Favorite hymn sung during Conference?
" Now let us Rejoice" Closing hymn Sunday morning sung right after President Monson spoke on living with gratitude.
4. Who wore the best tie?
" Now let us Rejoice" Closing hymn Sunday morning sung right after President Monson spoke on living with gratitude.
4. Who wore the best tie?
M Russell Ballard hands down had the sweetest tie during Conference (My son agreed wholeheartedly in case you question my taste). It was an orange tie with small squares with yellow designs.
5. Do you think conference had a “theme”?
Gratitude seemed to be the theme I picked up on. With also a return to the basics of the gospel.
6. Share a few of your favorite quotes (paraphrasing is fine).
"Don't focus on what is lacking, rejoice in what you have" President Thomas S. Monson
"Addictions steal away agency", "Satan is a counterfeit fisher of men" Elder M. Russell Ballard
"This I do because it is right" Elder Jairo Mazzagardi
"There is clarity in simplicity. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" President Deiter F Uchtdorf
7. Something that made you smile during conference.

7. Something that made you smile during conference.
President Uchtdorfs Saturday morning talk about trees and then knowing we were questioning what this had to do with flying a plane.
8. Any evidence that your children paid attention?
My son took notes all through conference even the session we attended, of course he is 21 years old!
9. If you had to give a talk in General Conference (don’t faint, this is hypothetical), what do you think you’d speak about?
Gasp!! I think I would talk about the Temple since it is near and dear to my heart right now (I serve in the temple one day each week). The glorious sealing power that is done there for your kindred dead and the promises given to us for our posterity as well.

10. What are some of your post-conference goals?
To have more gratitude in my heart for what I do have and to do all in my power to strengthen my family.

Thanks for playing along. I have enjoyed reading everyones highlights and love seeing the trends and everyone usually has one that I hadn't thought of and how it pertains to my life. Thanks.
Love this Diane! Thanks for participating in the meme. I didn't get to see Elder Ballard's talk because I was listening on the radio during that part. Shoot.
Elder Malm's talk was excellent because of the imagery he used. Makes it more memorable even for the kids!
