I don't like to bring treats to class so for Halloween I took little goody bags to the homes of these kiddos on Friday. When I arrived at one little boys home the family wasn't there so I decided to take in at a different time, I put it aside and forgot about it until Sunday. I told this little guy when I was sitting by him at church that I had something for him and I would give it to him after church. Well, then the real teacher came and taught the class that day so I went to big people class. I forgot about the goody bag until I got to my car and remembered I had it. The family had left already so I decided to take it to his house later on. I went home, we had our home teacher over, then we ate dinner and I remembered the bag again. I told my family that I had to run this to the little boy and I would be back soon. I convinced myself that it was really Halloween today anyway so I shouldn't feel to bad about it. When I arrived at the home the family was out in the front yard, when the little boy realized it was me in the car he came running over and threw his arms around me (pay day!). Then in the saddest little voice he said "I looked all over for you after church but I couldn't find you". Then his little face brightened when I gave him the bag. We had a nice chat then I went home feeling like I had finally bonded with these kids and that we are officially a class, I am no longer the reverence Nazi but one of them! I am so glad to be a Primary teacher/ reverence enforcer!!!Monday, November 1, 2010
Pay day!
A few weeks ago I told you about my strange callings. Well they have now turned into some really fun callings. I was asked to sit with a class of 9, 5 year olds to help keep them reverent. The kids hated me!! For real! Well, what I didn't know was the teacher that I was helping has a very hectic life as a newly divorced mom of 3. She is going back to school and is now working to support her family. She isn't able to teach regularly so I have been teaching most of the time. The kids have warmed up to me. We enjoy being together now.

That is so cute! You sound like a great teacher.
I bet you're an awesome Primary teacher; I wish one of my kids could be in your class. :)
I just want to thank you for your service! It is a (usually) thankless job and I know my son really enjoys being with you! He talked for days about his goodie bag. You really know how to make those kids feel special.
It was very sweet of you to bring a bag of goodies to each of them! Canon loved his treasures and did his sticker puzzles right away. He hung them up in his room. It is hard being the Reverence Nazi though. That was always my job with team teaching with Kyle. He was the fun one and I was the boring one who told the kids they had to be quiet. Only the girls liked me, the boys would boo when I came in to the room. REally and ego booster, let me tell you. You are great though. Canon always enjoys his class and is excited to go to church, so thank you a ton!
