Scripture study

I don't know about you but my scripture study has become quite weak. It has become the last thing I do in the day instead of my top priority. As I retire to my room exhausted after a long day, my dear hubby tries to fall a sleep for his early 5 am start, as I sit in my chair next to the bed with the lamp glaring in said hubbies eyes, I read. I try not to fall a sleep myself and then try to remember what I just read...nearly impossible! Is this study? Or just going through the motions?

Well the other morning, as I was reading all of you fellow bloggers blogs, I clicked under my heading "Other blogs I follow" the Mormon Times.com- Bloggernacle Backbench, at the bottom of this article under Techie Tips she had a link to BYU independant study free courses. Well I decided to check out the free courses offered on line and I registered for one of the religion courses. The beginning of a new way to study the scriptures has been made available to me and any one else needing a boost. I have chosen the Old Testament course and this is the 2nd straight morning and I LOVE IT!!! It has become the first thing I do in the day, it makes my day go better and helps my hubby get the shut eye he needs to make it through his day. Maybe you don't need the boost but I do and I will keep you posted how it goes. I have felt the spirit and I know how important it is to have the spirit in my life daily. If you have any other great ideas please share!

Thank you, Diane. I needed something like this... a kick in the pants, so to speak. :)

I've been wanting to do this!! Well, I really want to take a class with other adults, but that's not gonna happen while I've got "littles" at home. I don't know why I didn't think about independent study! I'm going to look into this. Thanks!

What a great idea! I just had heard about some colleges that offer free online classes but I hadn't thought about checking for religion classes. I'll have to do this, since I can't remember my class of when I was there at all.
