Have you heard the one about the family of tomatoes out for a walk? Mommy, Daddy, and little son tomato are out for a walk one day and the little tomato started to fall behind. When daddy tomato noticed his littleHa! Well that is how I feel with my blog about now. So, i will try to catch up on my last few weeks and try not to bore you to death...
The week before Easter I began serving in the temple on Tuesdays. My first week was a little overwhelming until I really thought about why I was doing this. For those of you who read my occasional blog posts you are mostly LDS and know the very sacred nature of temples to our religion. You also know that to serve in the temple you need to memorize many things. Well as I began memorizing the things I need to, I came to a realization that I might be trying to learn these things for the wrong reasons, like, so I wouldn't look bad or that maybe I would be the fastest one to learn these things (You know honors of men type things!!). I know you are shocked that I might ever feel that way, right? LOL!!! As I sat in my institute class the following day I had an epiphany, that I was trying so hard to learn these precious and sacred things for myself instead of to help others to make and keep sacred covenants with our God. Right then and there my spiritual eyes were opened and my understanding of sacred things was expanded, the words began flowing into my mind. I want no compliments for this because it is not through my own knowledge or power, but my Father in Heavens. What a blessing this is to me and my second week was more wonderful than the first. I look forward to the follow weeks being greater still. I found myself thanking my husband several time this week for making it so I didn't have to work a real job, so I can serve in the Temple at this time in my life.
Later that week I had the opportunity to meet a fellow blogger for lunch. Stephanie at Diapers and Divinity was in town while her husband had a job interview and for conference. I hope you got into a session, Steph! What a treat to meet her and feel of her faith. I will treasure this meeting and will count her among one of my dearest friends. My husband dropped me off to meet Steph and said he hoped I wasn't meeting up with some perv or something!!! The complete opposite of course is who I met. Thanks Steph for taking the time to visit, have lunch and walk around the mall.
Then the glorious Easter weekend and conference weekend together filled my spirit
ual reservoir. He is Risen!!! My gratitude for my Savior is immense! That He would die for all of us is the ultimate act of love for us, so that we may live again with Him and our Father.
I love celebrating this event each and every year!
Saturday before Easter we met with family for a movie, (We have a movie group, usually about 10 of us, in our family and I enjoy it so much). We went to see "How to train your Dragon" in 3 D. We all loved it and can't wait to see it again soon! Then a few of us gathered at my house to cook our Easter dinner for the following day. I don't know what you eat for dinner but we have a traditional Italian dinner started from my hubbies dear grandmother. We have raviolis (that put most Italian restaurants to shame, in my HUMBLE opinion!!), Easter pizza (which is like a quiche), meatball, meat rolls, gnocchis, salad and of course desserts (eclairs and cookies). We enjoyed having family and even a few friends (24 in all) over for dinner. My house and my heart were full. We had an Easter egg hunt for the littles and even one for the big
guns. Try hiding your eggs with the GPS and make into your own little geo cache next year, if you really want some F-U-N! Thanks Scott for putting my suggestion into fruition. My last few weeks in review..... I hope you aren't bored to tears....Oh well thanks for reading, see you in a few....Oh!! by the way on the count down chart we are at 79 days to go!!!!!! I can almost feel Ben's presence and his exuberance in the air.........

I love the catch up post and cute story. I'm glad the temple "stuff" is falling into place for you. I too am glad you are able to serve. You are a great example.
Guess what? They gave Matt tickets to the Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions at his interview! We got to go and it was fantastic. I loved meeting you too. Thanks for making time for me. :)
Cute joke! I enjoyed your testimony yesterday and on here as well. I think you are such a wonderful example to everyone and am so glad you are able to be a temple worker. What an exciting time in your life. Your easter dinner sounds wonderful, maybe next year if there is some leftovers... :) Finding easter eggs with your GPS as a geo hunt, clever, clever. Fantastic idea to keep in mind for us older ones who still love a good hunt.
