Have you ever had one of those days where everything goes bad? Well I had mine yesterday... This is how it began, I woke up with a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that I was coming down with something and I had just visited a friend of mine the night before who can not risk getting sick right now, especially not from me. But as the morning progressed and after I had pled with my Father in Heaven in my morning prayers to not let me be sick so I didn't infect my friend, I proceeded to get ready for the day. I had a dentist appointment to get to, to grind down a filling that the dentist put in on Monday that wasn't right. The Dentist was making a special trip in early just to fix this problem at 7:30 am, so I was rushing to get ready. As I was putting on my makeup and getting my hair fixed, I noticed a big run in my mascara. In my haste as I went to wipe it off I poked my eye like I have probably
done a million times before, but this time my eye began to swell up with blood. It was terrifying to watch the blood spread through out the eye and the eye to swell up. So in my panic I called my husband at work and freaked out at him, I know I scared the dickens out of him but in his calmest voice he told me to call one of the doctors in our neighborhood and ask her what to do. I did and she told me it is like a bruise under the skin and that I could put ice on it to keep it from swelling and to just let it heal as I would a bruise. Do you know how long it takes a bruise to heal? FOREVER! So, I will look like a freak for a long while. As the d
ay wore on the blood spread through the whole eye. Yucky!!!

ay wore on the blood spread through the whole eye. Yucky!!!Well that's not all....As you can imagine I was late for the dentist so I called him to tell him the sad tale, but being the kind man he is he told me to come when I could. Well thanks to sunglasses I made it by 7:45, he ground down the filling and I made it home without scarring any one for life. Then... Scott and I had asked my sister and 4 of her grand children to go boating with us that afternoon. As we got the boat out of the storage unit and back to the house it began to rain and not just drizzly rain, a downpour (does that count for one day on the water? I guess that it doesn't cause technically it was in the water not on, wasn't it?). It had been sunny and beautiful all morning too. So...we had to cancel our boating trip and had children in tears because they wanted to go so bad. We had to come up with a new plan and invited them to our house for pizza, games and a movie. I thought the day was getting better then the door bell rang...
I opened the door to find a Bountiful City detective on my front porch. He asked me if my son was home because he had some questions for him, he was investigating some one that had stolen a wallet and used the credit cards from it from a rec center in that city. The guy gave my son's name as his. Luckily our son is serving in the military in Texas and was at basic training when this happened. Weird!!! As the detective left he told me to tell my son thank you for serving our country.
Well inspite of all this and my feeling sorry for myself I remembered that I can choose to be miserable or I can try to make the best of all this. Even though my eye looks disgusting and I don't want anyone to see it (I'm considering staying home from church on Sunday, but I won't), I can still see out of it and I have it!!!(Thank heavens for sunglasses). I enjoyed having my sister and her grand kids over, we had fun and made the best of a bad situation. I can be grateful I have a good son who would never do the things the detective was asking about and has chosen to serve his country even when we are at war. I am so blessed and I know I will have many more GOOD days than BAD!!!

That is crazy, you need to take care of those beautiful eyes. Keep your fingers out of your eyes!
Oh my heck! I will be more careful when applying make up! It will be all better by Sunday! Right? Good thing you are cute no matter what!
What?? That is just nuts. Only up from here, my dear...
Wow Diane! I'm sorry about that. It looks painful! On the bright side, at least you have your red and white for the 4th of July. (sorry! that was terrible!) I bet it will heal fast. Isn't it your eyes and tongue that heal quicker than the rest of your body?
Thanks for being such a great lady and neighbor. We love ya.
Holy cow, that can happen by applying mascara? That looks like it hurts! I am so sorry, what a day. Good thing you have a sense of humor and made it through. And that downpour was very weird, we were about to head to the pool because it had been so nice, then all of a sudden here it came.
oh man! I drop in to check in on you and it looks like you've been in the boxing ring again! :) Best wishes to you and your fam and hope that you heal up quickly!
