Happy Easter

With this being the week of Easter I really just wanted to blog about my feelings and beliefs in my Savior Jesus Christ.

After listening to General Conference from the leaders of my church I wanted to share some things from one talk in general that struck deep feelings into my heart. Forgive me if this sounds preachy or if you feel it is too serious or personal.

Elder Jeffery R. Holland 's talk entitled None Were with Him, he spoke to those who have ever felt abandoned or alone, "he reminded us of the last week of the Saviors life and how so many abandoned Him when He needed them most. His circle of followers became smaller and smaller. He even felt abandoned by His Father when He asked "Why hast thou forsaken me?" A perfect Father did not forsake Him, He briefly withdrew, it was required, Jesus had to know how to comfort us when we sin and the spirit withdraws from us. Divine Compassion is never absent. We do not walk alone, He said " I will not leave you comfortless. [My Father and] I will come to you [and abide with you] John 14:18,23."

I have had times when I felt all alone but time and time again I have felt His love and compassion for me. I know that He is never far from us, even when our cross is to heavy to bear. So this Easter week I want to share my feelings for my elder brother. I believe in Him and I know He lives. I'm so grateful for the atonement and the resurrection of my Savior. I look forward to the day when we will live with Him again. He does not and will not leave us comfortless. He has walked alone once and I commit to be more fully His disciple so He will never walk alone again as Elder Holland has asked me. This is my testimony of Him!

Thanks for sharing that. I always love to hear other's testimonies. Sharing not only strengthens your own testimony but the testimonies of those around you. I also love Elder Holland's talk. It was one of my favorites. Have a Happy Easter. I am assuming your visitor this week is Aaron. :) (We haven't ever met in person - that I can remember anyway.) I'm glad he was able to visit and share the holiday with you.
