Angels!!!

We had a lesson in Relief Society yesterday from the talk from Elder Jeffery Holland at General Conference in October. I love this talk and especially loved the way it was taught to us yesterday January 11th (thanks Nell). We have such great teachers in our ward which is so wonderful except for the fact that it makes it so intimidating to be a teacher yourself. I have had my prayers answered from the other side of the veil and know that one of my children if not all have been protected by unseen angels. Hopefully one of those angels has been our son Adam watching over and even guiding his brothers and sister. I could go on and on about that but it will have to be another time since I know my emotions will be too much for me to handle right now, So the part I wanted to write about today was what Elder Holland said "when we speak of those who are instruments in the hand of God, we are reminded that not all angels are from the other side of the veil. Some of them we walk with and talk with-here, now, everyday". I have been touched by many of these angels that walk among us and want to mention just a few of them.

My mother; She has been the one person to love me unconditionally for my whole life even after she passed away in 2005. My mother was always there for me and spoiled my kids rotten. She couldn't enter the Temple with me the day I was married in 1976, but I was able to go with her when she was sealed to my step dad Red. I was able to help her dress for the happiest day of her life in Sept. 1999. She had an aneurysm in her brain a few years prior to attending the temple and would just talk out at various times with a loud voice. Every few minutes through the session she would ask me ever so sweetly but loud enough for all to hear "Am I married yet?" It was the most tender sweet day of my life. I miss my Mom more and more everyday because she was and I hope still is "My Angel mother",

My Step Dad is also one of those Angels I want to tell you about. He isn't just my step Dad he is my very best friend after Scott and my sister of course, hmm. He is a one in a million type guy. He helped raise 3 step kids along with his 6 and loved and disciplined them as his own. But most of all he is my hero because he sacrificed every thing to take care of my mom for over 10 years when she couldn't take care of herself. He saved her life many times at the hospital after she collapsed from her aneurysm and for many months after, correcting errors made by doctor's and nurses. How many guys do you know that would feed, cloth, cook for, shower, take care of feminine needs, change a grown woman's diaper and everything else without one complaint for over 10 years?

Not many, I'm sure. Love you, Red.

My sister is another angel. She mothered me and my younger brother through some really rough times in our life. She is always there for me when I need her and she is the best wife, mother and grandmother you will ever meet any where. She even quit smoking the day I had my daughter Stacy just so she could babysit her and love her to death. She is my BIG SISTER and I love and adore her.
I could go on forever I have many angels that have touched my life like brothers, a son, my real Dad and his wife, friends,Visiting Teaching partners, a husband and every woman that lives in my ward. I just wanted to take some time and honor them and let my Father in Heaven know how grateful I am for them!!!

I didn't know all of that about your mother. What a sweet tribute to her! You're right, there are many people here among us who help us in ways they'd never guess. Aren't we lucky? Thanks for some great things to think about!

I'm loving all the old pics you posted. They are so great. I'm sorry I missed such a powerful lesson. I was helping in Nursery. Thank you also for sharing some of your thoughts. Your mom and step dad (and all of the others you mentioned) sound like amazing people.
